Learn MoreJan 02, 2025
Constellation is America’s largest producer of clean energy. Altogether, we generate 10 percent of the nation’s carbon-free energy. Our fleet of nuclear, hydro, wind, and solar generation facilities produces enough energy to power more than 15 million homes and businesses through more than 32,400 megawatts of capacity and an annual output that is nearly 90 percent carbon-free.
Customers count on Constellation to generate and provide electricity that’s available 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. We operate the nation’s largest fleet of carbon-free nuclear power plants with an industry-leading nuclear capacity factor of 94 percent or higher, ensuring reliable access to clean power whenever customers need it. We also operate approximately 12,000 MW from our other fuel assets, which provide a mix of baseload, intermediate, and peak power generation.
Our Generation portfolio is unmatched in its diversity of geography, markets, fuels, and technologies. With a wide range of nuclear, hydroelectric, fossil, and renewable energy facilities. Constellation is built for reliability and choice.

Constellation has been a leader in the drive toward a cleaner energy future for decades. Our diverse generation portfolio serves our nation's energy needs with a mix of carbon-free and low-carbon resources, including nuclear, hydroelectric, wind, and solar facilities. Today, our fleet is more than four times cleaner than our nearest industry peer.
In 2021 alone, our fleet produced more than 154 million megawatt hours (MWh) of clean electricity – helping avoid more than 78 million metric tonnes of carbon emissions. The reduction of carbon released is the equivalent of emissions from 62 million gasoline-powered cars on the road.
Constellation’s 13,000 employees are the power behind our performance at industry-leading standards thanks to their commitment to our customers, our communities, and our environment.
We have also cultivated a culture of innovation that promotes the early adoption of promising new technologies and processes. Constellation believes in an integrated grid that combines existing clean power facilities and new distributed generation technologies. As we move towards a clean energy future, all of our energy sources will coexist to provide reliable power to all of our customers.
Constellation operates two primary Generation divisions: Nuclear and Power.
Nuclear operates America’s largest fleet of nuclear power plants. For 20 consecutive years, we have had an extremely strong performance record, with a 2021 capacity factor of 94.5 percent. The Constellation nuclear fleet is a powerhouse, producing approximately 150 million megawatt hours (MWh) of electricity every year.
Power is responsible for managing, operating, and maintaining the company’s fleet of natural gas, hydroelectric, wind, solar, and oil assets. These facilities provide nearly 12,000 megawatts (MW) of safe, efficient, environmentally responsible base load, intermediate, and peak power generation.
No one knows power generation better than Constellation. We operate more than 32,400 megawatts (MW) of generating capacity consisting of diverse fuel assets, and our exemplary record of industry-leading safety, reliability, and operational excellence speaks for itself. We share the benefits of our decades of expertise with plant operators and generation owners across the country through a variety of outsourced products and services. These include:
