Extreme weather conditions, such as a polar vortex, can significantly impact natural gas supply. Natural gas is often allocated to heating homes and businesses before it is sent to energy generation plants. To ensure we provide reliable supply to our customers, Constellation may switch to fuel oil to meet our operational commitments.

Providing Electric Generation Reliability
As part of our diverse energy portfolio, Constellation owns and operates three dual-fuel facilities, including Eddystone Generating Station, Perryman Generating Station and West Medway Generating Station II.
These electricity-generating units provide a reliable, predictable energy supply for our customers – creating value and security they can trust. The facilities use either clean natural gas or oil to power their operations. Their ability to draw from multiple fuel sources when prices fluctuate or fuel availability is limited and helps prevent power supply shortages.
At Constellation, we support local communities and causes with charitable giving and sponsorships – typically driven by our employees. In 2025, Constellation contributed a total of $24.5 million in combined company, Foundation and employee contributions. Plus, our employees logged 128,900 volunteer hours in service to our communities.

All of our generation facilities employ advanced emergency response plans to protect the health and safety of our employees and the public. These comprehensive plans are carefully reviewed and approved by state governments and federal regulatory agencies. Our emergency planning process also involves coordination with local and municipal officials, and thousands of volunteers and first responders.
We’ve implemented multiple initiatives to promote safety on and off the job for our employees, contractors, customers and communities. These include a behavior-based safety observation program and initiatives focused on areas of high risk. We integrate safety training into new employee orientation and leadership development programs for supervisors and managers. Constellation's safety peer group identifies successful pilot programs and practices that can be adopted by the entire organization.
